Hosokawa Alpine AG opened its new canteen and conference centre at the company headquarters in Peter-Dörfler-Straße in Augsburg on 18 March. Construction work on the site of the old training centre on the factory premises had been underway since December 2022 and has now been successfully completed.
"With the new building and its use as a modern canteen and conference centre, we can offer our current 840 employees in Augsburg something special every day in times of a shortage of skilled workers," says Dr Holger Niemeier, member of the Hosokawa Alpine Executive Board. This was worth the company investing several million euros in the location.
The canteen is designed according to the so-called counter principle. "Employees and guests order at a fixed service point and are handed their food," explains Dr Niemeier. Canteen visitors can look forward to culinary variety. Hosokawa Alpine offers three menu lines every day: traditional, vegetarian and "naturally light" with bowls, salads or vegan dishes. On warm days, the new, covered outdoor area with pergola can be used, which seats 50 people. The canteen has a total of 250 seats.
The new conference centre with an area of 120 m2 for events, lectures, training courses or in-house exhibitions is located on the first floor. It has multifunctional seating, is fully air-conditioned and equipped with state-of-the-art technology. The rooms on the second floor provide space for technical equipment and social rooms for the canteen staff.
