Application Center Food

Hosokawa Alpine AG opens new Application Center Food

- The test center for product trials is now complemented by a state-of-the-art environment for food trials.

Hosokawa Alpine AG is expanding its comprehensive range of services for product trials in powder and particle processing. At Alpine's test centres in Augsburg and Leingarten, applications and plant designs are tested in laboratory trials, processes are optimised and product samples are produced. Now this service has been expanded to include the Application Center Food in Augsburg, a test center specialising in the food industry.

Product trials under real conditions

All processes from feeding and dosing to grinding and classifying to bagging are carried out on three floors: "Hygiene and protection against contamination of the end product have the highest priority, especially in the food industry. Our customers from the food industry therefore have the opportunity to test the complete production process with the desired system under real conditions in our Application Center Food," explains Jörg Krahnen, Operations Director Food Division at Hosokawa Alpine.

Designed specifically for the food industry

It took two years from the initial idea to the completion of the new testl centre. The mill room is air-conditioned and has a food-grade floor coating. Three systems are available for customer trials on an area of over 100 m²: The pressure-shock-resistant Ultraplex UPZ 315 fine impact mill can be adapted to the various grinding materials in the food industry, from crystalline sugar to tough-fibre spices. The ACM 10 classifier mill combines grinding and dynamic classifying in one compact machine and offers, among other things, the option of continuously adjusting the precision of cut of the classifier wheel to the material being ground during the grinding process. The ATP 200 ultra-fine classifier combines low-wear operation with ultra-fine results. Hosokawa Alpine also offers all services online, from test discussions to real-time monitoring of all system details and inspection of product samples via video transmission. System maintenance can also be carried out remotely without any problems using the Alpine PIN remote maintenance software.
