Alpine Microburst AMB
The new spiral jet mill Alpine Microburst (AMB) is a practical addition to our proven AS spiral jet mills and AFG fluidised bed opposed jet mills. This is because it can also be used to finely grind coarser and fibrous products without the need for pre-crushing. The large, central inlet now allows coarser ground material to be processed directly.
The AMB is our low-investment compact solution in the sizes 100, 200 and 315.

Why Microburst?
Spectacular weather phenomenon as an innovative new machine
We named the Alpine Microburst (AMB) spiral jet mill after a well-known weather phenomenon. The falling downdraughts in a microburst are reflected in the central top-to-bottom material feed of the mill and high energy input to a clearly limited area.

Want to feed in coarse and fibrous materials without pre-crushing? The new AMB jet mill makes it possible.
Its large, central inlet allows more coarsely ground product to be processed directly. It is fed in centrally from top to bottom. The feed tube also allows very coarse and fibrous materials to be fed in, which previously could only be achieved through a complex and high-cost pre-crushing process. The grinding chamber can be ideally adapted to the properties of the material to be comminuted. The machine largely corresponds to our AS series in terms of sizes and peripherals. The monobloc design and hygienic design are already proven solutions in other applications. The well thought-out design and use of clamp fittings ensure fast and easy disassembly and make cleaning quick and tidy. The concept is further enhanced by the simple Ex-concept, user-friendly handling and modular machine design.
Scope of application
Manufacturers of functional food can rely on an optimised solution with the new AMB jet mill. Scientific studies have shown that fine milling in the production of functional food leads to better extractability, solubility, mouthfeel and bioactivity. This is the case, for example, when it comes to fine milling black or green tea.
Use of the new AMB spiral jet mill lends itself perfectly to the 'all natural' products trend, where natural flavours and colours are used in the final products. The AMB can be profitably applied wherever a production process has been limited in the past by the injector size of conventional spiral jet mills.
Medical PLA or PLGA manufactured granulates as a carrier matrix can now be finely ground with the new AMB.
