The Alpine Flake Crusher AFC product line can be used in a variety of areas, offering customers maximum flexibility.. As Thomas Dobiasch, Head of Sales of the Compaction Division at Hosokawa Alpine, explains: "The degree of comminution of the ground product with the AFC mill is dependent on which screen is selected. It can be a fine-meshed fabric, a friction perforation or a grinding plate – totally dependent on the industry and customer requirements. The grinding motion is a rotating one and is also extremely gentle even on brittle materials." The mill throughput can be adjusted via the rotational speed and includes particles of between 0.5 and 10 millimetres. The customer is just as flexible in the integration of the AFC mill into his system concept. Whether as a direct process step in combination with a Kompaktor® or as a stand-alone granulation solution – with the Flake Crusher, the customer benefits from a flexible multi-talent which can be delivered at short notice.
Compacted material in the form of briquettes or granules plays an especially important role in the metal, chemical/pharmaceuticals industries. Hosokawa Alpine's MS product line is the largest Kompaktors® product line. Thanks to the high press force that can be achieved by means of suitable roller bearings and a throughput rate of up to 100 tonnes per hour, the Kompaktor® offers a wear-resistant solution at high manufacturing quality. "A further advantage of the MS product line is the wide range of machine sizes which can all be supplemented in a modular fashion. This makes individual solutions for customers possible without the process warranty or the high energy efficiency of the product line being impacted", argues Dobiasch. The customer can also individualise the system by means of different roller geometries and feed units. Modern control and automatic press force regulation systems simplify operation and round off the advantages of the MS product line.
