As the new apprenticeship year begins, 15 talented young people are starting their professional careers at Hosokawa Alpine. The Augsburg-based mechanical engineering company is thus continuing its consistent strategy of developing qualified specialists from within its own ranks and retaining them with the company in the long term.

The new apprentices are spread across a total of six vocational roles. Three prospective industrial mechanics, one construction mechanic, two mechatronics engineers, fivecutting machine operators – including one apprentice in their second year of training – and two industrial clerks are beginning their apprenticeships. In addition, two young professionals are starting the dual study programme in mechanical engineering.

With the new apprentices, Hosokawa Alpine currently has a total of 57 young people in training, including seven dual-study students. CEO Michael Kuhnen personally welcomes the new recruits and emphasises the importance of nurturing young talent: “Innovations and quality arise from people who contribute their knowledge, ideas and enthusiasm. That is why, for us, training young talent is far more than just an investment in skilled workers. It lays the foundation for us to remain a technological leader in the future and to shape sustainable growth together.”

To ensure a successful start to their working lives, Hosokawa Alpine is once again organising a comprehensive onboarding programme this year. During the induction days, the new trainees get to know the company, its products and the various departments. Factory tours, information sessions and group activities also offer numerous opportunities to make initial contacts and network with future colleagues.

At its Augsburg site, Hosokawa Alpine offers young people a wide range of career development opportunities. The training programme covers both technical and commercial roles and is complemented by dual study programmes, which are increasingly in demand amongst school leavers.

In addition to technical training, the company places particular emphasis on the personal and professional development of its young talent. Through the company’s own Alpine Campus, apprentices also benefit from practical training, further education programmes and supplementary qualification initiatives.
