Solutions for maximum flexibility and productivity in blown film production
Hosokawa Alpine at K 2025
Hosokawa Alpine AG presents its range of services for the production of blown films at the K 2025 trade fair in Düsseldorf from 8 to 15 October 2025 under the motto ‘Blown film in perfection’. The presentation in Hall 16, Stand D06 focuses on the flexible 9-layer system from the Augsburg-based mechanical engineering company. Thanks to its unique adaptability, it gives customers the freedom to master future market requirements innovatively and confidently. With solutions for the production of sustainable full PE films and films made from PCR materials, Hosokawa Alpine is also addressing the major trade fair theme of ‘Shaping the circular economy’. At another stand, C34 in Hall 9, the company's recycling division will be showcasing its technologies, including those for recycling PCR plastics and films.
Increased productivity in the MDO process
MDO technology
With over 25 years of experience in monoaxial stretching, we are the pioneers in MDO technology and have been regularly improving our process ever since. Today, customers benefit from the highest MDO film quality with outstanding processability and optimised flatness thanks to the vacuum technology introduced in 2021. The unique TRIO technology “Trim Reduction for Inline Orientation”, coupled with vacuum technology, ensures significant material savings during the edge trimming process.We now offer a quick-change system for stretching rollers to enable the processing of a wide variety of films. At the same time, we are presenting new cleaning solutions. This significantly increases the flexibility of MDO film production and further boosts productivity.
Hosokawa Alpine presents digital offerings for the operation and servicing of blown film lines
Smart solutions for high productivity
In keeping with the trade fair motto "Embracing digitalisation", we will be presenting practical solutions for system automation and digitalisation at K 2025 that enable customers to operate their blown film lines more efficiently, safely and economically. A digital start-up assistant supports fast and error-free start-up, modern monitoring solutions ensure full transparency during operation and predictive maintenance tools help to avoid unplanned downtimes. This gives customers more planning security, reduces downtimes and increases the overall performance of their production.
Recognising and reproducing an optimum bubble shape
Hosokawa Alpine at K 2025
We have developed a solution for identifying and reproducing an optimum bubble geometry in blown film production. This is made possible by a permanently installed camera that photographs the bubble every 0.5 seconds. Once the optimum bubble geometry for a given application has been achieved, the settings are saved with the corresponding film recipe. "The desired bubble contour can then be automatically called up again any time once it has been saved for the first time," explains Bernd Bayer, Director R&D Blown Film Extrusion at Hosokawa Alpine.
Hosokawa Alpine with new granulate intake unit for extruders
Clean, compatible and easy to handle
At K 2025, we will present a newly developed granulate intake unit for extruders. The innovation impresses with its simple handling, harmonises perfectly with other Alpine system components, and reliably prevents dust deposits. As a result, users benefit from greater process reliability and consistently high product quality.
Hosokawa Alpine presents its own calibration basket for blown film lines
Product innovation for the K 2025
We are presenting a new development for our blown film lines at K 2025: a new, modular calibration basket for stabilising and calibrating the film bubble above the frost zone.
Cooling system of the latest generation - now with automatically adjustable cooling ring insert
Increase in system automation
We have further automized our highly efficient bubble cooling system for blown film extrusion. A motorized cooling ring insert significantly increases the degree of automation of Alpine blown film lines, making them ever more user-friendly.

With Blueserv, the service brand from Hosokawa Alpine, customers not only receive technical support, but also real competitive advantages. At the K trade fair from 8 to 15 October 2025 in Düsseldorf, Blueserv will be presenting concrete retrofit solutions as well as a new understanding of partnership-based service - forward-looking, customer-orientated and future-focused.

PCR: New process for an environmentally friendly circular economy for plastic packaging
A new process from Hosokawa Alpine ensures that plastic packaging waste from private households can be reused as post-consumer recyclate (PCR). This produces washed and dried flakes that are used for the manufacture of new plastic products in the sense of a functioning circular economy.
