Hosokawa Alpine invests in new universal milling centre

- Location development measure

Hosokawa Alpine AG has put a new universal milling center into operation at the company headquarters on Peter-Dörfler-Straße in Augsburg. The machining and turning center not only makes the mechanical engineering company's production more efficient and future-proof, but also contributes to the further development of the Augsburg site.

New machine fulfils increasing customer requirements

The milling centre from Austrian manufacturer EMCO cost a single-digit million sum. It was officially opened on 23 June. ‘Our customers' increasing demands for precision, flexibility and efficiency require state-of-the-art production technology,’ says Markus Fischer, Senior Vice President Manufacturing, explaining the investment. As even complex components can be manufactured with high precision, the machine is ideal for precise one-off and small-batch production. This is an elementary component for a special machine manufacturer such as Hosokawa Alpine, whose systems are developed and manufactured according to individual customer requirements. At the same time, spare parts for systems that have been in use for decades can also be manufactured to the highest quality.

Sustainable investment in the Augsburg location

At the same time, Hosokawa Alpine is sending a clear signal to employees at the Augsburg site with the milling centre. In this way, the company is extending its technological lead and positioning itself as an attractive employer for qualified specialists. "This investment clearly shows that we believe in our location and our employees. It is a strong signal of trust and a clear commitment to the future of our production in Augsburg," says Markus Fischer.
