Presentation of a new film winder

At the end of the blown film process, perfect winding is critical for the quality of the film. Hosokawa Alpine, one of the leading suppliers in the field of blown film extrusion, offers the optimum winder for every film type and is appearing at the K Trade Fair 2019 with the latest-generation Alpine HWD winder technology. “The Alpine HWD winder makes it possible for the first time to wind at a flatbed winder without a pre-winding station and thus ensures an even more efficient winding process with premium roll quality”, says Dr. Holger Niemeier, Managing Director and Head of Film Technology at Hosokawa Alpine. The ability to change contact rollers in less than 15 minutes also significantly contributes to increased efficiency and optimised product quality.

High-efficiency film winding

The Alpine HWD combines the advantages of flatbed and turret winders in a single machine. With its 1500-millimetre winding diameter, the Alpine HWD is designed for high roller weights. Web speeds of up to 300 metres per minute ensure higher productivity of the entire line. Through continuous use of the central drive and therefore constantly defined web tensions, the new winder allows winding without film routing right from the first metre. Adhesion-free winding is achieved by exploiting electrostatic charge. The Alpine HWD also allows resource-saving winding without peripheral trimming. Winding without a pre-winding station also makes the new winder from Hosokawa Alpine an attractively priced solution for cast film applications.
